Before the arrival of Dr. KABA Seikoun, M'Bassy SANGARE was the head of our ophthalmology unit in Kindia. For several decades (he would spend his entire career there), this TSO (Senior Technician in Ophthalmology) carried out thousands of consultations, minor surgery procedures and performed cataract operations in the operating room that we had equipped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A year before his retirement, Sangar\u00e9 set up his own NGO: Droit \u00e0 la Vue. Very inspired by our association, he had a project to open a fixed center on the other side of the city of Kindia and to serve as an advanced base for the detection of eye diseases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Voir la Vie supported Sangar\u00e9 in the creation of his structure. We provided him with all the equipment that made up the technical platform of his \u201cclinic\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the end of 2023, after being decorated for his services to his country's public health service, Sangar\u00e9 passed away. Mowed down by an illness with which he lived as dignified as possible, without ever complaining.

At the end of 2011, Kindia was the first Guinean city to offer eyeglasses equipment made on site. Entrusted to Fassou KOLIE, assisted by Tamba Moussa KAMANO and Sayon Ibrahima KOMARA, this center is operational and carries out its annual program to the rhythm of the consultations it practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Today, Kamano and Komara passed their Advanced Technician exam in Ophthalmology. They are providing consultations in place of Dr. Kaba and preparing for surgical procedures in the operating room for Dr. Hawa Soumah, who works in the ophthalmology unit on Wednesdays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
